Heavy Snoring - What You Need to Know

I can guess that most of the readers of this article will be women. I bet you have as husband with such heavy snoring that it is driving you crazy. And to be honest I don't blame you. This is a rough condition to have to listen to, especially when you're lying in the bed right next to them the entire night that you sleep. It's rough. I thought I could talk to you about this problem. It's something most of us were never taught growing up. There doesn't seem to be a knowledge base out there where you can just ask a friend how to fix. No one really knows what to do and that's probably the reason why you've been putting up with it for so long. This is why snoring aids can be a good choice for you.

You're probably wondering what this is all about. Let's just get down to the nitty-gritty of snoring and talk about the reasons it happens:

  • Weakness of the throat muscles (Throat becomes smaller)
  • Jaw comes out of alignment due to stress/tension in muscles
  • Obesity that leaves a lot of fat around the throat area
  • Nasal passage obstruction like sleep apnea
  • Tissue in the airways touching and vibrating
  • Alcohol or drugs relaxing throat muscles
  • Sleeping on your back, which causes the tongue to go closer to the throat

Anyone of these items could be the reason that heavy snoring is occurring. Obviously some of these are going to be disqualified depending on the person. A person that is skinny couldn't possibly snore because of obesity. A big part of the problem is pressure on the throat and you have to identify what is causing that. The position of the jaw is a big one because this is very hard to control as you sleep. It will go out of alignment and put a lot of pressure on the throat area. In that case you would just grab a Jaw Supporter and eliminate the problem that way.

If you're someone that is overweight than that is probably the reason that you snore. It is your double chin that is putting a lot of pressure on the throat area as you sleep. I know that losing weight can be a challenge for a lot of you, but it's something that has to be done. You have to remember the benefit that you're getting from this is improved health and not experiencing heavy snoring. Not to mention the fact that you're going to feel better about yourself and have more confidence.

Alcohol is another one because I know many people like to have a few beers after a day of work. This leads to snoring because it causes your throat muscles to relax. The relaxing causes the tissue in the throat area to sag more, which means it is going to get right in the airway. This leads to a lot of vibration.

All in all, you should hopefully be able to identify the reason you or a loved one has heavy snoring. Remember that the number one reason that a person ends up with this issue is typically the position of their jaw. I listed how you could fix that particular issue, so definitely give that a try if you're not really sure why the problem exists.
